I think you misunderstood. But it's okay. Reading all those interviews probably made you dizzy, because Nino obviously is a fourteen year old girl in her first relationship. Why some people have the notion that Nino is a grown male or should behave like one is beyond me. And all the interviews to the contrary are just playing it up for the press.

If you want to know how real people are in real relationships, you should read some more manga. Seriously. Live a little less. It will greatly improve your fandom experience.
