YTM. I have such mixed feelings on it. It was my... I don't know, my 4th or 5th Jdrama?
I was Jun-baited with HanaYoriDango, which is where it all began, followed by HanaKimi, the one where Sho is a preschool Teacher, KimiWaPetto and then YTM. My first real exposure to Nino.
(till that point, I was getting him mixed up with Aiba)
HYD, HanaKimi and KwP were all based on Manga, so I really thought I knew what to expect in the off-the-wall category. Completely not so. While on one hand, I loved watching Sho and Nino bounce off each other, and the utter crazy around Tarou PLUS ALL THE GAY MIMURA OMG!
I also found myself wanting to throttle everyone but the kids and Mimura. Tarou--especially toward the end-- I mean, I got the message, right? You don't need money to be happy. Right... but it sure does make things EASIER!
I especially hated his parents. ARGH! The reminded me muchly of the HYD parents. But at least the father TRIED to work. He just failed at it.
Side Note: There is a veeeery awesome episode of Utaban where 2 of Nino's little sisters guest with Arashi for the Valentines Day Special. VERY CUTE! You can totally tell they loved him.
If you found yourself really liking this, you might try HanaKimi. If nothing else, than watch it for the Toma. Because I... it made me fall in love with him a thousand times and in a thousand ways. His character is just so... *SQUISHES*
And there is LOTS TOMA BEING GAY. Only not really. He just thinks he is. Sort of. And he kisses Oguri Shun. Oh...
Now I want to watch it again. If you DO end up suckered into watching, let me know. We can flail together.
