The last day for submissions is today. I've been very, very, very MIA lately otherwise I'd have pimped this sooner. Anybody else feel like joining me in some 'omg, five hundred words on the quick!' ficcing? I think I'm going to try.
In other news: Here's something I don't remember writing. I found it as I was clearing out old files and I have no memory of doing this. None at all. It's like I surprised myself with fic!
Let's pretend it's part of a kiss, and all was said, okay?
They were in Kyoto to do a play with the Kyoto Juniors. They'd arrived late in the evening and had to be up early to work and work hard…so of course, they had all piled into one room and were talking about debuts and skinship, about member-ai, about boys and boys, and—
"Kissing a boy is no big deal," Nino said authoritatively, rock solid in his fifteen-year-old wisdom.
There was a noise of general razzing, the way only a room packed to overflowing with teenaged boys could generate.
"I think Ninomiya is right," said a slightly spacey, slightly older boy. Ohno, Aiba remembered, Ohno Satoshi. Ohno's brow furrowed slightly. "It's just lips."
More noise and, out of the din, gradually, "Kiss him! Kiss him! Kiss him!"
Nino and Ohno simultaneously shrugged and turned to each other, leaning in to peck each other on the lips. This was met with a combination of hooting and boos. Aiba saw Nino smirk, saw Ohno's eyes flash, and knew that Nino had found somebody to really play with when they lunged at each other, falling to the floor in a mock-passionate embrace.
Aiba giggled and turned to Jun only to find the space beside him empty. In the clamor he saw the door shut quietly. He looked back at Nino and Ohno rolling around on the floor and then slipped out of the room after Jun. They were far from home and he was the oldest in their little group, after all.
The room he shared with Jun and Nino was just down the hall from the one Ohno and Machida shared, the one currently filled with just about every junior in Kyoto. The light was off but Aiba knew Jun. He pushed his way in to the room quietly. And, quieter still, "Jun-kun?"
A shadow by the window shifted, sighed. "I'm all right. It was just too…much. For a minute."
Jun was a funny kid in a lot of ways, so much seriousness packed into his tiny frame. "You know Nino's just playing around," said Aiba.
Shadow-Jun shifted again and became a perfect silhouette, chin dropped down to his chest, shoulders curved in. "…yeah. It's no big deal."
And somehow, Aiba knew. Maybe it had always been something he'd half-understood about Jun, maybe it had sneaked up on his thoughts as he'd become close to the other boy, maybe it was a total surprise that was so huge he couldn't even feel the shock of it. "It's seriously okay, too," Aiba said into the darkness.
Jun's head jerked up and Aiba could see his hands ball into fists. But he didn't say anything.
Aiba crossed the room with all the gangling surety of a sixteen year old. He knocked Jun on the shoulder. "Whatever, okay?" he said encouragingly.
He didn't expect Jun to lunge up against him and kiss him on the mouth.
Oh, he thought. And then, It's just a kiss. It was just a press of lips on lips, like Ohno had said. Aiba put his hands on Jun's shoulders and kissed back until Jun quit feeling so desperate against him. "Huh," he said when their mouths parted.
"Is it okay now?" Jun asked fiercely. His voice quivered a little underneath it, though, and Aiba heard it.
Matsumoto Jun was a funny kid Aiba thought again and pulled him into a hug. "You're kind of a funny kid, Matsujun," he said on a giggle.
Against him, Jun caught a breath and then half-laughed. "You're kind of an idiot," said Jun.
Aiba grinned and kissed Jun on the cheek out of sheer, unadulterated affection.
For some reason he lingered close, his lips a hairsbreadth away from the smooth skin of Jun's still-round cheek. He could hear both of them breathing lowly, evenly, and he let his mouth drift to Jun's. "Don't be so tough, okay?" he whispered before kissing him again.
Jun's lips were full and soft and a little rough where he'd bitten them. Aiba swept his tongue over those bite marks soothingly and was honestly a little surprised when Jun gasped into his mouth and pressed closer.
But it was all right, really, Aiba thought as he held Jun closer. It wasn't always easy to find somebody to kiss and if Jun liked kissing boys then it had to be even harder still. And it felt nice. Aiba didn't mind. He touched his tongue to Jun's, gently, sweetly, and breathed in the shaky rush of Jun's breath out.
"Is it okay?" Jun asked and Aiba felt Jun's hands settle at his waist, hesitant and soft.
"It's fine," Aiba told him, not sparing a second to wonder if it was okay, really okay. "It's just a little bit, right?" He more felt than saw Jun nod and went to kiss him again, missing and ending up kissing the tip of Jun's nose. He laughed. "Just us, okay?"
Jun laughed too, just a breath, and then their mouths were together again, slow and easy.
