We don't think it's Spanish Influenza

So, I am--and have been--really ill lately. As in 'antipyretics take the edge off the fever, every muscle aches because I'm shivering all the time, I can't breath on TWO levels--head AND chest--and just the thought of swallowing makes my throat hurt and that was before all the coughing started' really ill.

Today, I gave in and went to the doctor's office.

Dr. P: Wow, you are just miserable aren't you!

Me: *nodnod* Is it swine-flu? (since there is a confirmed case about seven miles away from where I live the county board of health sent a flyer around asking us to inquire about this if we start showing flu-like symptoms)

Dr. P: We can do a blood test, but I'd say probably not. You're not showing the benchmarks we're concerned with.

Me: Way to ruin my fun.

Dr. P: Way to ruin MY fun.

Dr.P: *examines*

Dr.P: *listens to chest* *keeps listening* *keeps listening as I cough for five minutes straight*

Dr.P: ...by your SYMPTOMS you started out with flu but I'm going to send you over to X-Ray and we're going to see how bad this pneumonia is right now. I'm pretty sure it's in both lungs.

Me: *rather chirpily* So it's Spanish Influenza.

Dr.P: Wouldn't that be cool?

Me: Actually, yes. Yes it would.

X-ray Technician: You know, Dr.P put a 'Patient X' post-it over your name.

Me: We're hoping it's Spanish Influenza.


It is not, sadly, Spanish flu. This is not the first time I've developed something simple into double pneumonia. I've had two shots to the hip today. Antibiotics, antipyretic, and a quick ringer of fluid pumped in.



I am feeling slightly more coherent but possibly more miserable. I am now going to poke around the internet.

Hehehe. I love when Ohno gets all up in his bandmates' faces. Especially when Nino was complaining that Ohno's breath smells like cookies and Sho says "it's like art" (while Yama-chan in the background comments that it's like body-painting dhadjahda YOU GUYS TOTALLY NEED TO DO BODY-PAINTING FOR REALS OKAY). XDDD

I did get to finally watch Jun's incest-twin movie though, since laying around is my current defaul setting. I had to yell at him for being so damn pretty during parts of it.

Now I just need to watch more sentai and Kamen Rider stuff.

I wanted to be all sympathetic and stuff, but then JUN'S INCEST MOVIE and JAN AND RETSU!

Seriously, I love Retsu with a sort of ridiculous passion and it is his own fault for trying to have dignity, okay, that's just NOT ON when it comes to sentai. (Also, he is played by Takagi Manpei, one of the twins from Mei-chan, and why are they both so hot?) Especially when you have Jan, who is like. MY LOVE. (And hey! Finally a good reason for acting like a social reject! RAISED BY TIGERS IN THE WOODS LOL.)

P.S. TELL ME WHEN YOU GET TO BAT LI-SENSEI. BECAUSE THAT EPISODE IS PRETTY DAMN AWESOME.
