I'm on hold with the dentist's office!
Jul. 22nd, 2009 03:41 pmAccording to the automaticed phone system, which keeps faking me out, I have about ten minutes to sit on hold with the dentist. So...

The folder pictures, in case they aren't clear and/or are confusing are: Nino with his guitar (music), Voice, (pictures), Black & White (videos), and Arashi (write this, you idiot). Black & White, btw, is pretty fucking awesome. I had to download a Real Alternative to play it but it's worth it. I kind of seriously dig it.
In regards to other dramas: I'd have had sex with the last episode of Voice. I'm aware that my reaction is both icky and wrong but there you are. I loved that drama. I...kind of love Toma a lot. I'm loving him in Majo Saiban. He hasn't had a YES! GO, BABY, GO! moment like Kamiyama has over in Quiz Show, but then again, I'm only four episodes in (;__; Summer, why you gotta ate me up like a cookie?). I'm also rewatching Uta no Oniisan (with the kids--mine and other peoples') and downloading HYD. Yes, I know, I'm probably the last person on earth to watch it. I watched the movie and that was good enough but it seems Ashley (one of the neighborhood kids) is now a big Matsujun fan (she was baited in by Truth and Ohno's voice) and so there we are.
Speaking of the kids and their favorites, my five-year-old Jillian now has a favorite member. Sho. Because 'he has a cool name'.
If you said '...?' then your reaction was pretty much the same as mine.
Random entry is random! The next entry will hopefully have fic. Or pictures of things you're actually interested in! Let's all wait for the next entry!

Date: 2009-07-22 09:17 pm (UTC)*laughs* Jillian sounds like a fun kid. At five years old, I likely would have done the same thing though.
Oh dear, HYD. I tried so hard not to ever watch it, and then once I started (which was not my fault, I have no idea why my Japanese teacher thought it would be a brilliant idea to show Hana Yori Dango with subtitles), I couldn't stop. I watched the entire thing within a weekend. It's pretty amazing how she got into MatsuJun through Ohno though. XD

Date: 2009-07-23 02:31 am (UTC)I think Sho's fail--like Aiba's--translates well without words. And then he has a cool name. I kind of laugh when I think about it. It might be the whole 'It's Show Time!' thing--she's watched Quiz Show with us a few times.
HYD has to fight for space with everything else I'm watching...I'm trying to round the kids out with Arashi members. We're hitting up YTM, too. XDD

Date: 2009-07-23 01:12 pm (UTC)Hahaha! That does make sense. XD Oh, Sho. I love Sho ridiculously.
Oh, man. :D That sounds awesome! I love YTM too! Ah, Nino. Ah, Sho. I love the behind the scenes clips too. :D

Date: 2009-07-23 02:25 am (UTC)The fact that it apparently makes me cool on the internet is a bonus!
(My desktop is not as pretty as you are. *___* You are so lovely.)

Date: 2009-07-23 12:22 am (UTC)Also I have not seen HYD either. Not even a little. :/

Date: 2009-07-23 02:20 am (UTC)It's not my usual sort of drama but it's actually pretty good.

Date: 2009-07-23 02:24 am (UTC)My sister (who swore she didn't like it when she saw the first few episodes) has now come around to the HYD camp. I may have to give in soon. I was Jun-baited from Gokusen, though, so that will probably always be my favorite. ♥

Date: 2009-07-23 02:18 am (UTC)(My reason for loving Arashi was the music. I think that, by fandom standards, that makes me retarded.)

I am SO converting the next generation. I've got five kids on the line aside from my own. Spread, my rainbow sparkles, spread!

Also, the folders are really cute . . . I'm sure it's really easy to do that? I wonder how to do it on a mac . . .
And summer has eaten me alive . . . I can't believe it's pretty much almost over *__* I need to prep my fall classes >_<

Date: 2009-07-24 11:56 pm (UTC)And I sort of hate mowing the lawn.
I have no clue how to do it on a mac. I just went under properties and customized. One of the few things that Windows Vista didn't screw up.
Summer is terrible! ;___; It's also probably the best season we've got. Why is life so cruel?
(Ps. Icon. ♥♥♥)

Date: 2009-07-25 02:38 am (UTC)Though when I was a kid and the dog was not cooperative, lots of food went down the heating vent behind my kitchen chair O___o About a decade later, I fessed up but apparently no known harm had been done ^^"
The Boy and I are considering home ownership, but it does seem kind of a hassle . .. we keep considering the whole condo thing, but I am really sick of sharing walls :P Plus my landlord just rented the rooms above us in our duplex to students from my university. God, I hope none of them or their friends are in any o my classes this year; that would be . .. ew. (thin walls) Though who knows? When they ask me what the hell music we're listening to so loudly, I can make them watch concerts or something. Or not ^^" Small school, bad idea ^^"
Ha! Most of the people I know LEAVE THE STATE for most of summer. Three weeks over 100 will do that to a person. Now I'm in the rational NE, where it's nice and cool around 80 \(^_^)/
RE: lawn mowing--> The Boy is allergic to cut grass T__T A condo is looking better and better. But before we look into that, there's the little matter of a 5 year late honeymoon in Japan next summer. Home ownership can damn well wait ^_^

Also, on the topic of amusing desktops, here's mine:

Best part? The placement of that folder was a complete accident.
I like your five-year-old's reasoning skills.
EDIT: I also wanted to ask why you've been avoiding HYD? I know when I was younger I avoided watching it because I was such a big fan of the manga and had been convinced it would not translate to television well. I had thought there was absolutely no way Domyouji Tsukasa could come to life on television because of a lot of the outlandish and downright unacceptable things that he did in the manga.
Then a friend told me "The guy who plays Domyouji is really hot in kimono."
What can I say? I'm kind of an easy sell. :|b [and I had nothing better to watch at the time] She did not tell me that the guy playing Domyouji was Jun. That was an interesting surprise.

Date: 2009-07-25 12:05 am (UTC)(I didn't notice that you hadn't added me back. XD I'm not very observant.)
I...I'm kind of in love with your desktop. Ed gave me the o_O look when he saw what I was laughing at but once he managed to read the name of the file he laughed too.
RE: HYD...I wasn't actually avoiding it. I enjoy Jun's acting but HYD isn't the sort of drama I'm usually drawn to. I like cop shows and medical shows (hence I loved Maou and Voice and eventually got into RnK) and the occasional sitcom/comedy. Romance isn't my thing (I like exploding head movies!) and for some reason I have a very strong image of HYD having most of the focus there.
I'll probably like it once I get into it. Then you can laugh at me. You can mock me openly! On your journal!
(PS. Dude looking hot in a kimono is a perfectly valid reason for getting into anything.)

Date: 2009-07-25 12:12 am (UTC)I like suspense thrillers and the like. Though a good comedy is never something I turn down, but most of the time "comedy" in Asian media preceded by "romantic". I have a distinct loathing of romantic comedy genre in most cases. :/
As for the desktop: I think Jun's goober giggling is what makes it. *nods*

Date: 2009-07-25 12:28 am (UTC)But mostly the reason I am not helping my son with his volcano right now (I will in a moment) is because VOICE. Crush syndrome? The electrocution? Why Teppei wasn't wearing gloves when carrying around a petri dish full of KNOWN infected tissue? I buried my head in my hands for a bit and then forgave the show for havign some awesome talent. Plus, Toma was too cute. I love that kid. I want to pet him and feed him candy.
(Jun's giggling. I swear, it never gets old for me. I'm so happy he laughs more now.)

Date: 2009-07-25 12:37 am (UTC)And I am a Toma fan through and through. I have been for nearly a decade XD I follow him through dramas no matter what, even if it had to mean losing precious hours of my life to the abomination that was Honey & Clover.

Date: 2009-07-25 12:32 am (UTC)Especially when he has a short hair cut and looks so damn hot.It was my child's reasoning that threw me off. His...name? His name? I can really only think that it's because she's watched a few episodes of The Quiz Show and likes the 'It's Show Time!' bit.T-the fact that that I go 'yes, it IS Sho time!" at the television in a giddy, happy voice has nothing to do with this, I'm sure. Nor does her father's love of the Dream Chance jungle dance.
