Real life continues to be real. I ♥ the lot of you and I miss you all terribly.
And now, the fic. For Erica. Not for her birthday, just because.
Nino isn't like the rest of them; Aiba is aware of this on so many levels that it doesn't even register anymore. Nino is not like them. Nino is much more like a hermit crab; happy in his little shell and content to venture out occasionally when he finds a better looking shell to crawl into.
Aiba curls himself more closely around Nino in their bed. "I'm the best shell you've got, right?" he mumbles sleepily.
Nino hums in amusement and contentment, warming their shared pillow.
"If you say so," says Nino.
Their hands are clasped together; fingers tangled and laced somewhere just underneath Nino's shell and resting right above heart.
...yeah, no. I don't know where that came from either. It took five minutes and you get what you pay for.
