I haven't read Holic since Kohane was introduced. lol Have some 'best effort based on what wiki has'?

It's the little things that keep Watanuki grounded. He discovers early that space without time is a vast and unlimited thing that is easy to get lost in. He grounds the shop but it does not ground him. So instead he cooks and he cleans and he doesn't spoil Maru and Moro.

But he can see a time when he might want to. He has nothing but time to indulge them, after all. And they are his constant companions, his only playmates. But if he gives into them, spoils them the way that Yuuko did, then he truly will become her.

So he beats the rugs and he makes Doumeki lunch when he comes and he watches the millions of tiny ways in which his other constant companion ages from day to day. It centers him and keeps him moving forward despite the stop in time.
